Cowboy Bebop is a new Netflix original series based on the 90s Anime classic. While there are some major differences between the two, the New Cowboy Bebop Live Action series is faithful to the original in all the ways that matter. The story is essentially the same but many of the secondary characters have their own expanding stories in the new series. While the show has released to some mixed reviews, most of the negative reviews seem to be from fans of the original who aren't happy with some of the changes. I watched the bulk of the original 26 episode series (also on Netflix) in the week leading up to the Cowboy Bebop premier on Nov. 19. As someone relatively new to Cowboy Bebop, I thought the show was incredibly and uncommonly faithful to the spirit of the original show.
